Mental Health Evaluations for Immigration Proceedings

Mental health evaluations are used in immigration court proceedings to determine if an individual will remain in the United States. They serve as supporting documentation and evidence in a client’s immigration application for cases including:

  • ASYLUM

  • HARDSHIP

  • T VSA

  • U VISA

  • VAWA

The process entails and in-depth interview discussing various aspects of a person’s life including biopsychosocial history, general health/wellbeing, mental health assessments, and potential diagnosis and recommendations. In many cases I have worked collaboratively with other practitioner’s such as primary care physicians to learn about a client’s medical conditions and how it can be affected by their pending immigration case. The interview can be conducted virtually or in-person. I can also facilitate interviews in other languages including Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Amharic, and Nepali.

*Examples of evaluations can be provided for lawyers seeking these services.
